I was born and raised in the wild and majestic jungles of sub-Saharan Africa.
A fond lover of nature, wildlife, camping, and the great outdoors, I have traveled and lived in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and North America.
As a child growing up in the jungle, it was very common to be constantly exposed to wild animals and natural hazards like the harmattan or severe thunderstorms. Having lived among the lush landscapes in some of the remotest rural settings (with no electricity or drinking water), I have encountered tarantulas, the fast and venomous black and green mamba, and exotic birds which you will only find in the tropical rainforests. And while camping and trekking, I have had some really close encounters with wild elephants, ibex, black panther, bison, moose, deer and wild boar!
Besides painting, I spend time with leather crafting, photography, cooking, travelling,
and IT security.
I enjoy meeting and interacting with people from various cultures.
My wildlife paintings, landscapes and seascapes are a culmination of influences and
experiences from the different places I have traveled and lived in. Also, the music
of Gordon Lightfoot, Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), J. J. Cale and Mark Knopfler have
played a vital influence on my paintings.
Although many of my recent paintings are on canvas, I paint on leather, stone, birch bark and just about anything.
I began painting with watercolors when my grandfather gave me a set of brushes and
paints.
I have no formal training in art or painting but someday hope to study art.
I wish you Peace!
